How do I end a consultation visit so the next appointment goes well?
You set the stage, and you do not rush it. The end of that exam visit is one of the most important moments in the whole process. Tell the patient plainly: we got everything we need today, next time we will review what I found and walk through your options, and we will see you that day with your husband, John, as well. Then ask if they have any questions for you. That last line cleans up anything left hanging. Notice what you just did. You defined the next step, you named the financial other who needs to be there, and you reopened the floor one final time. Practice that language until it is yours and it comes out matter of fact, not memorized. Done right, this is the quiet move that makes the next visit work.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
