What do I say when a patient demands a price on the phone?

Have a sequence ready, not a single line. Start honest and warm: I’m here to help you, but I’m not the doctor, and the best thing I can do is get you in to see him so we can actually talk about fees. If that doesn’t land, lean on the diagnosis angle. Tell them the doctor told me the one thing I can’t do is diagnose over the phone, because that wouldn’t be fair to your situation. Most people hear that and agree to come in. If they still refuse, defer and offer information. Get something in their hand and follow up to book the consultation. And if they won’t even give a name, get a little technical so they realize this is more complicated than they thought. You never let a price alone derail the whole thing.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
