What dental patient fears need to be addressed beyond fear of pain?
Several, and they show up consistently in patient interviews when someone asks. ‘What will I look like?’ Aesthetic fear. ‘Will this really work?’ Outcome fear. ‘Will it fall apart too soon?’ Durability fear. ‘What will others think about me?’ Social fear. ‘Will I be seen without my teeth?’ Embarrassment fear. ‘Will I lose my money?’ Financial-risk fear. Each one is real. Each one can derail a case. A complete case presentation acknowledges these fears explicitly and addresses each with specifics: outcome warranties, before-and-after photos of similar cases, treatment timelines, discreet temporary solutions, financing protections. Skipping the fear conversation does not make the fears disappear. It leaves them unspoken and unaddressed, where they quietly kill the case.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
