What four sections should a consultation welcome letter include to set expectations and provide guardrails?

How this works, what you need to do, what will happen at each step of the treatment process, and who should come with you to your visit. The first section explains the practice’s overall approach to consultations and the structure of the visit itself, so the patient arrives knowing the flow. The second section spells out what the patient is responsible for: forms to complete, documents to bring, fees ranges to expect, and any preparation needed. The third section walks through the treatment process at a high level, from consultation through diagnostics through presentation through scheduling, so the patient sees the whole arc and knows the visit is one step in a structured journey. The fourth section is the most often skipped and most consequential: it specifies who should accompany the patient to the visit, naming spouses, parents, or trusted advisors whose involvement will shape the eventual decision. The four sections together prevent half the misunderstandings that derail consultations.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
