What should a dental practice do if the support person arrives at the treatment presentation having missed the CDP educational video?

Play the relevant educational video for them before the case presentation begins, so they are caught up on the procedural information the patient already absorbed. The support person stepping into the treatment presentation cold is at a disadvantage. They have not seen the imaging, have not heard the explanation of the procedure, and have no shared frame of reference with the patient. The case presentation lands poorly if half the audience is missing the foundation. A short educational video catches them up to roughly the patient’s level of understanding before the case presentation begins. The patient watching the video for the second time benefits too, reinforcing their grasp of the material. The assistant handles the playback while the doctor prepares the rest of the room. Ten or fifteen minutes invested in catching up the support person produces substantially better case-presentation outcomes than diving into options without the foundational education. Skipping the catch-up step is a common reason support-person-driven cases stall at the presentation.
