What is the four-part goal clarity exercise that helps dentists set practice direction for the year ahead?

Goals, obstacles, opportunities, strengths. Goals start by looking twelve months forward: if you are happy with where the practice has landed by then, what specifically will have happened? Write everything that comes to mind. Obstacles names what stands between today and that future state, ranked by risk and paired with a plan for each, including honest acknowledgment of which ones require outside help. Opportunities looks at what becomes possible once the goals are reached, ranked by size, to keep focus on the real prizes and away from the new-and-shiny distractions that arise constantly. Strengths inventories what advantages the practice already has that can be leveraged toward the goals, again ranked by value. The full exercise takes serious time to do well. Half-hearted execution produces vague answers and weak results. The dentists who run the exercise honestly and revisit it annually outpace peers who never put pen to paper.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
