What barriers stop patients from saying yes to treatment?
There are more of them than fear of cost, which is the one most dentists fixate on. Patients also stall over fear of the procedure, doubt that the work will last, confusion about what you actually recommended, distrust built up from a bad past experience, and the simple inertia of putting a big decision off. Each barrier has its own answer, and lumping them all under price is why so many cases die. If someone is scared of pain, a discount doesn’t help them. If they don’t understand the plan, dropping the fee just makes a confused person poorer. Sit down with your team and name the barrier you hit most often, then build a specific response to that one. Revisit the list every six months, because the mix changes as your practice and your patients change.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
