What is the CE course commercial test every dentist should run before signing up for advanced training?
Ask yourself honestly whether you have the marketing and selling infrastructure to deploy the skills you are about to learn, and whether you can demonstrate concretely how the next case using the new technique will arrive at your practice. The test sounds basic and almost no one runs it. Walk into any clinical CE course and survey the attendees about whether they expect to commercially use what they are about to learn. Most attendees cannot answer the question coherently. They are attending because the course caught their attention, because peers recommended it, because the technique looked exciting in journals, or because they feel professional pressure to keep advancing clinically. Few have a concrete plan for the patients who will receive the treatment back at the practice. The course is a sunk cost the moment they sign up. The test before signing up: where is the marketing channel that surfaces the cases this technique addresses? Who is the patient demographic? What is the projected case flow per year? What is the case-acceptance system that will convert the inquiries? If those questions cannot be answered, the course will be expensive entertainment rather than a business investment. Run the test before committing the funds.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
