What is decision fatigue and how does it affect treatment acceptance?
Decision fatigue is what happens when a person has burned through their capacity to decide, and it matters enormously at the treatment visit. By the time a patient reaches your presentation, they may have already made a hundred small choices that day. Pile a complex, option-heavy pitch on top of a tired brain and you don’t get a thoughtful yes, you get a no, or worse, a stall. That’s why I keep the clinical discussion tight and the options to three good ones, not twelve. Every extra fork in the road drains the patient further. Protect their decision-making energy like it’s a limited fuel tank, because it is. Present cleanly, decide what matters, and don’t make a worn-out patient do your sorting for you.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
