What’s the core mindset shift required for a dentist to escape practice stagnation?

Personal responsibility. The philosophy of ‘I am the problem, I am the solution’ applies to everything within reach: the practice’s marketing, the team’s training, the case acceptance rate, the fee schedule, the patient experience. The dentist who blames the market, the insurance companies, the patients, or the staff stays stuck. The dentist who claims responsibility for the result, then works on the levers within their control, makes progress. The shift is psychological more than tactical. It costs nothing to make. It enables everything that follows. Most dentists pass through their career without ever making this shift and continue to externalize cause. Their results show it. The minority who shift produce results their peers find unexplainable.
