What’s the biggest mindset barrier to accepting bigger dental cases?
The biggest barrier isn’t skill. It’s the belief that you need to be some kind of superhuman before you start. Anthony Greenback said it well. To live through an impossible situation you don’t need the reflexes of a Grand Prix driver, the muscles of Hercules, or the mind of an Einstein. You simply need to know what to do. That’s the whole thing. Most dentists I talk to are stuck because they’re waiting to feel ready, waiting to be brilliant, waiting for confidence to show up on its own. It doesn’t work that way. Confidence follows competence, and competence follows knowing the next concrete step and taking it. So stop measuring yourself against some impossible standard. Find out what to do in the case in front of you, then do that. Repeat. The rest catches up.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
