Why should I do patient discovery before the consultation instead of during it?
Put the discovery on the front end and you save everyone time and stress. When a patient books, that is your window to collect what you need before they ever sit down. Medical and dental history, a care application that uncovers what is really going on, the non-clinical picture of their motivation. If you wait until the visit, you burn your most valuable face time filling out forms and chasing basics. Gather it ahead, and the consultation itself becomes a real conversation about their problem and their options. There is a second payoff too. The act of completing discovery before the visit starts the patient thinking about the financial reality of treatment, so they arrive already preparing rather than blindsided. So build a packet that does the discovery in advance, and protect the consultation for the work only you can do in person.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
