Why does my case presentation overwhelm and confuse patients?

Usually because you are presenting like a dentist instead of talking like a guide. You know the anatomy, the sequencing, the contingencies, and it all spills out at once. The patient hears a wall of detail and shuts down, and confusion is one of the top reasons qualified people say no. A confused mind defaults to no, or to the cheapest, smallest option that feels safe. The fix is not dumbing it down. It is sequencing it. Show them the problem clearly first so they own it. Then give one recommendation, in plain language, with the reasons that matter to them and not to you. Leave out the parts that serve your ego more than their decision. When the patient can repeat back what is wrong and what you suggest, the confusion is gone and so is the resistance.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
