How do you redirect a dental caller who insists on a phone fee quote and refuses other paths?

With confident, polite, scripted language that reframes the request without antagonizing the caller. The first move is honest acknowledgement followed by an alternative: “I cannot quote prices over the phone, but what I can do is get you in to see the doctor, who can make a real diagnosis and present a range of options that fit your budget. The next openings are Tuesday morning at nine or Thursday afternoon at three. Would either of those work?” Most callers accept this. If they decline the consultation, the next move is to capture contact information for a substantial information packet that includes general fee ranges. If they refuse to provide contact information and continue pressing, the team member shifts briefly into more technical language about the specific procedure, indirectly conveying that a single ballpark price cannot capture the complexity. Some callers respond by opening up and providing real information. Others end the call, having self-selected out of the patient base.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
