Does making treatment sound complex hurt case acceptance?
Yes, badly. Complexity is the direct enemy of understanding, and understanding is what gets you to yes. The advanced niche procedures genuinely are complicated, I’m not pretending otherwise. But here’s the line I hold. The dentistry can be complex. How you present and discuss it never is. Your peers do the opposite. They make things more complicated than necessary because they think it makes them look smart. It just makes the patient shut down. So if you simplify while everyone around you tangles things up, you’ll help more patients than most of your competition, and your real competition isn’t the dentist down the street, it’s every other big purchase that money could go toward. Strip your presentation down. Say less, mean more.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
