Does more clinical training increase a dentist’s duty to sell?

Yes. I call it an ethical caring obligation, and it scales with what you know. The dentist who can place implants, restore a full arch, and rebuild a collapsed bite carries more responsibility than the dentist who only knows how to refer it all away. Think of it like a doctor on an airplane when someone collapses. The more medicine you know, the less you get to sit in your seat and pretend it isn’t your problem. Same logic here. If you have invested years in advanced training, then the patient with the nightmare smile in your chair is your problem to solve, not someone else’s. Refusing to develop the conversation that turns that need into accepted treatment wastes the very skills you worked so hard to earn. Use what you know. Lead your staff to get good at it too.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
