Why do bigger dental cases need more than just better clinical skills?

Because as the case gets bigger, the nonclinical demands grow faster than the clinical ones. To get the clinical opportunities you want, your nonclinical side has to be at least as strong as your clinical side. With small fillings that balance is easy. With a full arch reconstruction it is not, because the conversation is longer, the fee is higher, the patient’s fear is bigger, and the decision is more complicated. Complicated matters get handled with systems, not with talent on the day. A surgeon who can place implants flawlessly but cannot guide a frightened patient through a six figure decision will not place many of them. If you want to be the implant dentist in your area, build the communication and consultation systems out ahead of the clinical ambition, not behind it.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
