Whose responsibility is it to follow dental laws in my state?
Yours, fully and without exception. No training program, mine included, can possibly know the rules of every state and province. The regulations on how you present treatment, advertise, finance cases, and run consultations differ from place to place, and they change. So when you take general principles and apply them, you are the one who has to check that what you are doing meshes with your own jurisdiction. If something in a teaching does not fit your state’s laws, that is on you to catch and adjust before you act on it. Do not assume a concept is automatically compliant where you practice. Treat your state board’s rules as the final word and bring questions to your own counsel when something is unclear. Owning that responsibility protects your license, and your license is the whole business.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
