Does what a dentist wears actually affect whether patients accept treatment?
Yes, and ignore the school of thought that says it shouldn’t. Professional dress moves people, especially in professional services where the patient has no easy way to judge your skill before they commit. Standards have shifted over the last fifty years, but looking the part still carries weight, and my members have proven that out over years of real cases. Here is the catch. Appearance gets you in the door, it does not keep you there. The patient is quietly asking whether you are truly an expert. If your dress writes a check your credibility cannot cash, you lose them. So dress like the specialist you claim to be, then back it with proof. Think of the suit as the cover of a book. It earns the open. The pages have to deliver.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
