What should I do right after a patient picks a treatment option?
Clear the other options off the table fast and pile on the benefits of the one they chose. Here is the trap. Once a patient decides, their happiness with that choice can get eaten away by what they gave up, the cheaper path, the faster path, whatever they did not pick. That is regret building, and it can sour a perfectly good decision. So the moment they choose, I remove the alternatives from the conversation and shift hard into emphasizing how great the choice they made is and everything it does for them. The financial coordinator does the same thing, moving straight to the financing that fits the chosen path, not relitigating the menu. One more lever, start big and go small. Present the largest option and fee first, then come down. Lock the choice, kill the leftovers, and protect them from second-guessing.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
