Why do dental second-opinion patients accept treatment so easily when explanations are simple?
Because they have already heard the complex version somewhere else and walked away. By the time a patient is sitting in your chair for a second opinion, they are looking for clarity, not more clinical detail. The previous dentist either drowned them in jargon or left them with a fuzzy plan. When you arrive with simple, direct language and a clear two-option recommendation, the patient experiences relief. The light bulb goes off. They commit. This is the most consistent demonstration of the rule of complexity in clinical practice. The patient is the same person they were at the first office. The communication is what changed.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
