When can a dental practice safely shorten its case-acceptance cycle?
When patients travel great distances to see you and request a consolidated visit, that’s the signal trust has been established before they arrive. A patient flying in from out of state or driving four hours has already self-qualified through their willingness to invest the travel. Combining consultation, diagnostic, and case presentation into a single longer visit makes practical sense for them. For local patients, the staged one-week cycle stays in place. The mistake is shortening cycles for local patients to ‘save time’ before the practice has built the high-trust marketing assets (testimonials, endorsements, demonstrated expertise) that justify the compression. Travel signals trust. No travel, no compression.
