How does a dentist get better at predicting which dental cases will fall apart?
By patterns. As you run hundreds of cases through your selling system, the cases that drop out start to share characteristics. Patients who arrive without the Decider. Patients who repeatedly reschedule. Patients whose phone call language was vague. Patients who showed up to the consultation late. None of these are deterministic, but over time the pattern recognition gets sharper. A dentist with 50 case presentations under their belt will still be surprised by what blows a case up. A dentist with 500 will recognize the warning signs early and either address them proactively or de-prioritize that case before sinking ten hours of team time into it. Pattern recognition is one of the unfair advantages that develops with disciplined volume.
