Why does my dental practice need to think of itself as a sales business?

Because it is one, whether you like the word or not. You can be the best clinician in your zip code and still go broke if nobody trusts you enough to say yes on the phone and show up. Marketing only buys you the ring of the phone. What happens after that is sales, and most dentists I work with quietly hope that part takes care of itself. It doesn’t. Once you accept that you run a sales business that happens to do dentistry, everything downstream gets easier. You start hiring for it, scoring it, and holding people accountable to it. Until you embrace that in your own head, your team will keep treating selling as the dirty thing nobody owns, and your case acceptance will show it.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
