Why does mindset matter more than clinical skill for dental practice growth?
Because clinical skill is necessary but rarely the binding constraint. The binding constraint is usually mindset: the dentist’s beliefs about what is possible in their market, what patients will pay, how to talk about money, whether selling is ‘beneath’ the profession, whether marketing is ‘tacky.’ Dentists stuck in limiting mindsets stay stuck. They do the same routines that have always been done, with the same patient outcomes that always result, while wondering why the practice never grows past a certain ceiling. The dentist who shifts mindset, examines assumptions critically, and adopts evidence-based marketing and selling consistently breaks past the ceiling. Mindset shifts produce more business growth than any new piece of equipment, any new procedure, or any new staff member. The work happens above the neck first.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
