What percentage of clinically trained dentists are actually qualified to do big-case dentistry?
Less than 10 percent. The combination of skills, equipment, training, and judgment required for full-arch reconstruction, complex implant cases, sedation dentistry, and cosmetic full-mouth work narrows the field dramatically. Most general dentists were never trained in these procedures during dental school and never pursued the post-graduate work to acquire them. Among the 10 percent who are clinically qualified, even fewer ever get to fully use their skills, because they lack the marketing and selling systems to attract the patients who need that level of care. The clinical qualification is necessary but not sufficient. The systems to find and convert big-case patients are what separate the clinicians who do big cases from the clinicians who could but don’t.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
