How long should a dental case presentation actually take?
Thirty minutes or less, not counting the financial conversation. Beyond thirty minutes, decision-making fatigue sets in, and acceptance probability drops. If your presentation takes longer than that, you are either covering ground the patient does not need or presenting in too much detail. Simple discussions, even of the most complex cases, fit inside thirty minutes when the materials and the structure are tight. The financial conversation is a separate, distinct moment after the clinical and treatment discussion. Combining them in one long meeting is what burns out the patient’s decision capacity before you ever get to the close.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
