Do dental credentials actually help patients say yes?
Not on their own. I am a big fan of credentials. The DDS, the FAGD, the fellowships, they are all legitimate and they do set you apart. But here is the catch. When a patient just sees a row of letters after your name, they think, that guy is a dentist with a lot of letters after his name. The letters mean something to you and your peers. They mean almost nothing to the person in the chair unless you translate them. There are ways to use credentials so they actually build trust, by connecting each one to what it protects the patient from or makes possible for them. Do that and the letters start carrying weight. Just listing them is like hanging diplomas on a wall and hoping the patient reads dental school admissions requirements. They will not.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
