Why should a dentist personally write follow-up notes to case presentation patients?

Because a hand-signed note from the doctor signals time investment and personal attention that no team-generated communication can replicate. The note does not need to be long. Two or three sentences. ‘I am still thinking about your case. The conversation we had stayed with me. Reach out when you are ready, or I will check in next month.’ Patients hold onto these notes. Some keep them on the refrigerator for years until they are ready to act. The note keeps the doctor present in the patient’s mind during the indefinite period between consultation and decision. Most doctors will not do this because it takes effort. That is exactly why it works for the ones who do.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
