Are great leaders born or can dentists actually develop leadership?

Nobody is born a great leader, not the doctor and not a single person on the team. It is nurture, not nature, and that should be encouraging news. Leadership develops over time. You can leave it to slowly form on its own across decades of life experience, or you can work on it deliberately and grow it fast. I push every dentist to choose the fast route, because better leaders flat out do more cases. I have seen it again and again. Leadership is how you connect with patients and staff, your listening, your empathy, looking someone in the eye and giving them news good or bad, doing what you said you would do when you said you would do it. It runs on emotional intelligence, not book intelligence. Commit to building it on purpose, and watch your case numbers follow.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
