Why should the doctor and financial coordinator hold a brief pre-presentation briefing before each dental case presentation?

To align on the case, the prepared materials, and any last-minute adjustments before walking into the room with the patient. The briefing takes less than five minutes and happens immediately before the appointment. Both team members review the patient’s name, the motivator, the treatment barriers identified at the post-CDP meeting, the three options being presented, the fee structure with adjustments and discounts, the financing pathway prepared, and any specific items raised during preparation that need attention. The PowerPoint slides get a quick scan. The Case Report gets confirmed as ready. Any last-minute changes get made before the patient enters rather than discovered mid-presentation. The five-minute discipline keeps the case fresh in both team members’ minds and surfaces any oversight before it can damage the presentation. Practices that skip the briefing often discover problems during the presentation itself: a missing slide, a fee that does not match the prepared materials, a piece of information one team member knew and the other did not. Five minutes prevents most of those.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
