Why do most highly educated people miss how reciprocity works?
Because intelligence and emotional intelligence are not the same thing, and human behavior runs on the second one. I’ll line up a flower legend, a grocery sample, a Facebook like, an earthquake relief story between two nations, and a mint on a restaurant check, and ask what they have in common. Most brilliant people, Harvard, Yale, Duke, whatever the diploma says, cannot see it. The thread is reciprocity, the pull to repay an exchange, and it’s invisible to people who were never trained to read human behavior. Dental school is the same. It teaches you the biology of teeth and almost nothing about why a person says yes or no. That gap is exactly why so many skilled dentists struggle to get cases accepted. Stop assuming your clinical IQ covers the consult. The skill that closes cases is reading people, and it has to be learned on purpose.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
