How long should a dentist spend in a free implant consultation?
Fifteen minutes of doctor time. That is the guardrail, no matter how much time your staff invests around it. When you step back and look at everything you pour into one patient, from the first phone call through every follow up step before treatment starts, you are looking at a huge number of hours. Thinking you will recoup all of that on the front end is folly. You cannot. What you can do is minimize the damage, and capping the doctor at fifteen minutes is a big part of that. Define it clearly so the patient knows what they are getting, and so you protect the most expensive, least free time in the whole building, which is yours. Build the rest of the visit around staff and materials. Your fifteen minutes is for connection and direction, not a full clinical exam.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
