When during the day am I most likely to miss new patient calls?

Earlier and later than you’d guess, and during the chaos in between. The bulk of unanswered calls land roughly between 5am and 11pm, which is well outside the hours most front desks are staffed and alert. Some of that is obvious. You’re not in the office at 7am or 9pm. But plenty of it happens while you are there, because you’re elbow deep in a consult or a procedure and the phone simply loses. So the gaps aren’t only after hours. They’re any moment your team’s attention is somewhere else. Map your own missed calls by hour for a few weeks. The pattern almost always surprises the dentist, and that pattern tells you exactly where you need coverage you don’t currently have.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
