Why ask each dental team member individually about the barriers to a specific patient’s treatment?

Because different team members observe the patient at different moments and pick up signals the others miss. The front-office team member who handled the inquiry call heard the patient’s first unfiltered words and the questions they asked. The assistant who walked the patient through the consultation tour heard offhand reactions to the practice. The team member who sat with the patient during the educational video saw their facial expressions during specific moments. The doctor saw how the patient responded to clinical findings and motivator questions. Each vantage point produces different data. Asking everyone in a single round-robin question, what do you believe the barriers are for this patient, surfaces the full picture. Common observations confirm the obvious. Unique observations from one team member reveal something the rest of the team would have missed. The five minutes spent polling team members produces a better-informed case-presentation plan than any single perspective alone.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
