What is the three-treatment-options structure used in dental case presentations and what does each tier represent?

Three labeled tiers: best, very good, and good. The best option is the ideal treatment the doctor would choose for someone they cared about, the recommendation that addresses the full scope of what the patient needs with the highest-quality approach. The very good option is a meaningful step down, less ideal but still substantively addressing the patient’s situation, typically at a lower investment level. The good option is the lowest tier the doctor is comfortable presenting as a real solution, a credible answer to the patient’s primary problem even if it does not capture everything the best option would. All three options need to be honest. The doctor would deliver any of them competently if the patient picked it. The tiers give the patient a clear comparison framework without overwhelming them with choices. The named labels reinforce the structure psychologically. The patient evaluates three credible paths and commits to one. The doctor’s clinical judgment is preserved across the full range.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
