Should I include happiness in my treatment presentation or just clinical facts?
Include happiness, every time. When you hand a patient nothing but a pro and con list, features and benefits, clean clinical reasoning, you have left a real decision-making tool off the table. People do not buy on the spec sheet alone. They slide back toward whatever promises them happiness. So I make sure the presentation covers what the treatment prevents, the further dental problems, the lost benefits, and also how much happiness it is going to bring. Being able to chew steak again. Smiling in photos without covering their mouth. Stopping the daily worry. Those happiness factors belong in the options discussion right next to the clinical points. Think of it like selling a car on safety ratings only and never mentioning how it feels to drive. Give them both. The clinical earns trust, the happiness earns the yes.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
