What should my front desk say in the first few seconds of answering the phone?

Make the greeting count, because you can win the call in the first 25 seconds. The caller is braced for the worst. They expect a flat tone, no thank you, a mumbled practice name, and a robotic how can I help you. So shock them. Sound genuinely happy they called. Say the practice name clearly. Say your own name. Thank them like you mean it. When you do that, you flip their whole expectation in a few seconds. The greeting also does a second job. It snaps your team member out of whatever just rattled them on the last call and puts them in a state of readiness for this one. By the time the greeting is done, they are present and ready. A weak hello loses the patient before you have said anything real.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
