Should I record my current consultation before trying to improve it?
Yes, and do it before you change a single thing. You cannot improve what you have never actually watched. Record one of your first visit consultations exactly as it runs today, office tour and all, and then sit down and watch yourself. It will be uncomfortable. You will hear the gaps, the missing instructions, the places where you left the patient to guess. That baseline is the whole point. Then script out an improved version, run it, and compare the two side by side. The contrast is what shows you how far your behavior has shifted, and it keeps you honest about whether the new approach is genuinely better or just feels better. Think of it like a golfer filming a swing. You do not fix what you only feel, you fix what you can see. So capture the before, because without it every improvement is just a guess.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
