I’m a starter not a finisher, can I still build better practice systems?
Yes, and honestly most dentists I meet are starters, not finishers. It’s common in entrepreneurs. So I have a saying for that personality: you can do anything in your practice you want, as long as you’re not the one who has to do it. Not finishing isn’t a character flaw, it’s an operational trait baked into how you’re wired, and the fix isn’t to grind harder against your own nature. The fix is to find out honestly what you’re good at and what you’re not, then delegate the rest. I’m useless at construction of any kind, from an ortho appliance to fixing my fence. Realizing that freed me. So when the fence breaks, I hand it to someone who’s good at fences. Awareness is the first step. Build your role around your strengths and hand off the rest.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
