Why do so many dentists burn out before their practice succeeds?

Because they treat every fire as equally urgent and they never build a place to step back and think. I see it constantly. A dentist grinds for years, says yes to everything, chases every new shiny tactic, and one morning he’s either staring at bankruptcy or he’s so fried he’s ready to quit. Burnout isn’t usually caused by hard work. It’s caused by unfocused work with no structure and no one to think alongside. The fix is to develop habits and capabilities that hold up for the long term instead of heroics that hold up for a quarter. You need a format, a set direction, and ideally a group of like-minded dentists working through the same frustrations. Satisfaction over the long haul comes from systems, not from sprinting until the tank is empty.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
