Why do dentists keep getting distracted by new equipment and shiny objects?

Because the new and shiny is built to entice you, and it works on all of us, in the practice and in personal life. There is always a newer scanner, a flashier course, a marketing angle promising to fix everything. Chasing it feels like progress, but it is usually just motion. The discipline is picking the one opportunity that actually moves you toward where you want to be in a year, and staying locked on it. When I run this exercise I let people list several, then I force a rank order, because the top of that list deserves your attention and the rest is noise. Think of it like a dog that bolts at every passing car. It never catches one and never gets where it was going. Pick your opportunity, rank it, and let the shiny objects pass.

If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
