Does it matter if there is background noise during my phone calls?
More than you think. The person answering your phone is supposed to be the calm expert a nervous caller leans on, and a room full of chatter and clatter undercuts that instantly. Background noise distracts the team member trying to listen for the pain, and it distracts the caller who is already a little anxious about why they are dialing a dentist. It signals chaos. A first-time caller forms an impression of your whole practice in the first thirty seconds, and a noisy line says you are not in control. Give whoever handles new patient calls a quiet spot and a decent headset. Treat the phone area like an operatory. You wouldn’t run a consult with three conversations going on around you, so don’t run your most important calls that way.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
