A patient said yes but wants to start in two months. How do I keep the case from falling apart?
Two things. Small touches and a small deposit. When a patient says yes but pushes the start out a month or two, life starts competing for that money and that time. A car breaks, a kid needs braces, and suddenly your case is a low priority. So do not just wave goodbye and hope they reappear. Stay in contact with multiple check in touches so you never go quiet. Then take a small deposit, even a refundable one. The deposit is not about the money, it is about commitment. Once something is on the table, the patient has skin in the game. Position it honestly. Tell them you need to hold their time in the schedule because availability tightens. Touches keep you present. The deposit keeps them committed.
If the answers you are finding here resonate with you, my team and I work with a small group of clients each year. The next step is a complimentary Discovery Consultation and Practice Review with Dr. McAnally.
